Fresno State Wins FLW College Fishing Western Regional



Saguaro Lake brought out the best of the western division this past week for the FLW College Western Regional. Only two teams caught limits in three days of tough fishing in Arizona. Fishing around 35 feet dropshotting roboworms was the technique that took over the tournament. Fresno State, held strong only weighing in 4-11 on day one, but blowing the competition away on day two with a 5 fish limit worth 15-10. Day three, tournament cut to top 5 consisting of Fresno, two Chico teams, Cal Poly and Sac State. Fresno only managed 2 fish for 3-6, but it was enough to take the tournament by 8lbs. For their patient but agressive fishing, their school bass club was awarded $12,500 + Ranger 177TR & 90 hpEvinrude or Mercuryoutboard WRAPPED INSCHOOL'S COLORS($25,000 value) and $12,500 donated to the school in their name. Congrats to all the schools who qualified for this years regionals!
